WATCH: Singaporean Nelson Tan performs Chinese New Year medley with 8 instruments
Many people can play one instrument. Some even two. But eight?
In a YouTube video, Singaporean Nelson Tan created a medley of
popular Chinese New Year music, played on eight different instruments:
the erhu, the violin, the dizi, the drums, a piano keyboard, the
harmonica, a bass machine, and the otamatone - that cute thing that
looks like a black fish plushie.
He played four songs - 拜年, 恭喜 恭喜, 恭喜发财 and 财神到. The video featured
split screens displaying his finesse for the instruments, and true to
the spirit of the long holiday weekend, he wore traditional clothes in
some of the scenes and even decorated his otamatone with a good-luck
charm!
This is one rendition you would want to hear to get yourself in the festive mood!
